Sports Day

It was a beautiful morning and the sun was shining brightly in the sky. My father was bringing me to the Yio Chu Kang stadium. When I reached there, I saw many students wearing their PE t-shirts walking around. After a few minutes of searching, I saw some of my friends sitting on the grand stand and I went to join them. After sitting for a while, we saw our class and went over. Soon, the run began but first the runners would walk in their houses carrying their house flags. Then they started running. First, they went with the P4 boys. Then followed by the P5 boys and so on. I was feeling bored so I went to talk with my friends. After the runners had run finished, we had some games. We played a game that we must prevent it from coming out of our sector. We competed with the other three houses which were playing the same game. Next we were told to say our cheers and whichever house could say the loudest would earn the most points. We were also given some breads to eat. When the teachers had finished counting the points that we had accumulate they announced the winner. The winner was given a big trophy. After the ceremony was over, we were seperated. Those who were taking the bus was in a group while those who were not taking the bus would have to wait for the school bus to take us back to school. While waiting for the bus, we saw a toad jumping on the grass. Some of the students sprayed water on the toad. Soon, the bus came and we boarded the bus back to school.

Cross-country race

On the eve of National Day, our school celebrated National Day by having a cross-country race at Sambawang Park. The race was only for the P5 and P6 students. Our teacher gathered us and we took the school bus to our destination. When we reached there, we were briefed of the running route and rules. Before the race all of us were told to do a light workout. Soon the race began and we started running. While we were running, some students were already exhausted and started to walk. At first I started slowly with some walking but then I began to run all the way to the finish line. I over took many students along the way. After I finished the race, we were rewarded with a bottle of yakult and a few cups of milo. Then, there was a prize giving ceremony for the winners. Next, our teacher allowed us to play catching at the near-by field while waiting for the bus. Within 30 minutes, the bus arrived and we boarded the bus. When we reached school, we went to collect our things and we were dismissed.

National Day

National day is around the corner. It is a very special event for Singaporeans as we celebrate Singapore's 44th birthday. Last month, my teacher brought our class to see the national parade rehearsal. When we reached there, we saw many students from other schools also making their way to the stadium. It was crowded and we had to take at least 20 minutes to reach the stadium. After we found our seats, we took our dinner that we were given by the school and started munching on it. Soon, the parade started. Everybody started cheering and a boy came to the stage to say the pledge. Next, some people began to dance. Then, there were military vehicles in convoy and aeroplanes flew pass us. It was so exciting and some soldiers came on the stage to perform. There were soldiers in different uniforms marching onto the stage. There were also some entrance for the presidents. There were 10 different chapters and each chapters talk about Singapore. At the last part, ther were some famous singers singing. At the end of the show, we were treated with colourful fireworks but there was also a big downpour. We sang the National Antem and quickly ran for shelter. It was a disaster but we had a cooling wash up.
