National Day
National day is around the corner. It is a very special event for Singaporeans as we celebrate Singapore's 44th birthday. Last month, my teacher brought our class to see the national parade rehearsal. When we reached there, we saw many students from other schools also making their way to the stadium. It was crowded and we had to take at least 20 minutes to reach the stadium. After we found our seats, we took our dinner that we were given by the school and started munching on it. Soon, the parade started. Everybody started cheering and a boy came to the stage to say the pledge. Next, some people began to dance. Then, there were military vehicles in convoy and aeroplanes flew pass us. It was so exciting and some soldiers came on the stage to perform. There were soldiers in different uniforms marching onto the stage. There were also some entrance for the presidents. There were 10 different chapters and each chapters talk about Singapore. At the last part, ther were some famous singers singing. At the end of the show, we were treated with colourful fireworks but there was also a big downpour. We sang the National Antem and quickly ran for shelter. It was a disaster but we had a cooling wash up.
